Airfiltronix provides customized engineering solutions to address customers' specific fume/particle problems. Our modular design enables us to build custom sized enclosures without custom sized prices. Most of our hoods are manufactured with extruded acrylic panels for sides, top and rear. We also offer special side panels for heat, impact or chemical resistance. Dimensions can range from ten inch mini-hoods to ten foot multi-person workstations. The blower/filter unit can be hood mounted, wall mounted, or otherwise located remotely from the hood. If you require a special size, special doors or other features, our engineers can help you with drawings and prices.
Our products have a very broad range of applications. Almost any work situation which involves the use of chemicals, reagents, powders or sprays could be made safer through the use of effective capture and filtration systems. The filter housing on our units will accommodate up to a 7.5 inch stack of filters including aluminum or Dacron pre-filters, HEPA particulate filters, activated carbon or specially treated carbon for organics, acid and mercury
NOTE: Selection of filters is dependent upon application.
To meet the increasing demands for enclosing robotics and lab automation instrumentation, Airfiltronix provides individually designed enclosures to insure for product and/or personnel protection. Airfiltronix specializes in providing customized engineering solutions to address customers' specific fume/particle or containment problems. Our modular design enables us to build custom sized enclosures without custom sized prices.
It is because of our expertise in fabricating custom enclosures that we have been provided the opportunity to build custom Laboratory Robotics Enclosures for numerous companies.
The enclosures can be:
Positive Pressure - creates a dust-free work area of better than 100 ppm for highly sensitive samples or instruments. Our portable clean rooms provide a particle and bacteria free work area for a fraction of the cost of a full size clean room. Units will protect product and samples from contamination with Class 100 or better clean air (see Filters for more information).
Negative Pressure - designed to enclose materials and operations under negative pressure, thereby preventing airborne contaminants from escaping into the work environment. Contaminated air is drawn through a variety of filters to remove pollutants and/or particulate and recirculates clean air back into the room. Filters are available for both vapors and particulates and they can be combined for multiple substance filtration (see Filters for complete information)
Blower/Filter modules are normally mounted on top of the hood, however, if space is limited they can be remotely located and connected to the hood via PVC hose. A high efficiency, brushless AC motor with dynamically balanced backward curved impeller moves up to 530 cfm in free air at a noise level of less than 70 db.
enclosure without blowers or filtration to protect the equipment from dust or for connecting to an existing ventilation system.
Most of the enclosures are constructed of clear 1/4" thick acrylic panels with sturdy aluminum framing (other panel materials are available if required, i.e. chemical resistant, polycarbonate, polyethylene etc..). Custom ports and hinged doors can be designed to accommodate your particular application or instrument.
An optional UV sterilization lamp is available which destroys potentially contaminating DNA or RNA. A 15 watt fluorescent lamp can also be provided for ample lighting of the work area. Both the UV and fluorescent lights are provided with a control switch.
Airfiltronix fume/particle extraction devices are designed to accept a series of filters including aluminum or Dacron pre-filters, HEPA particulate filters, activated carbon or specially treated carbon for organics, ammonia, acid gases, formaldehyde, radioactive iodine and mercury (see Filters for complete information).
